Mark.1.6-7 John wore clothing made of camel's hair, with a leather belt around his waist, and he ate locusts and wild honey. And this was his message: "After me will come one more powerful than I, the thongs of whose sandals I am not worthy to stoop down and untie. (NIV)
John the Baptist was not a voice just making noise in the wilderness. He carried a message. Elijah the horseman of Israel had a message in all He spoke. Moses was given the law. That was his message.
Throughout the Bible, we see men anointed by God and each carrying a specific portion in the broader Gospel of Christ.
The question then comes to you; what message has God given you to carry to the world? You can say I am preaching Grace, but what is that message in the Grace which marks you.
The sun, moon and stars all give light, but there is something in them that tells the difference. That's what we use to differentiate them.
The Bible says in 1Corinthians.14.7, Even in the case of lifeless things that make sounds, such as the flute or harp, how will anyone know what tune is being played unless there is a distinction in the notes? (NIV)
In verse 9 it says, "So it is with you. Unless you speak intelligible words with your tongue, how will anyone know what you are saying? You will just be speaking into the air.
Before God sends any man or woman to a people, He first defines what his message is. The reason some people struggle with ministry is because they are trying to preach or perform another person's part.
Here is what to do: get back to God and get a clarification on what you are ordained to speak or do. In the spirit, there is nothing like trial and error.
Let that question keep echoing in your heart until you find your position in the Gospel. The Bible says we are like bricks being used by a master builder to build the house, each fitting where it should be.
Where is your position?
Hallelujah!
