IS CHRISTIANITY HARD, OR IS IT SIMPLE?

Psalm.25.10 All the ways of the LORD are loving and faithful for those who keep the demands of his covenant. (NIV)

Have you heard people say Christianity is hard, or that living a Christian life is not easy and that we suffer because God is punishing us?

God has never set up a course of life that He knows is very hard to live and fulfill or a condition which is impossible to live. The truth is that even in giving the law, which no man would obey perfectly, it was to the end that He proves to man that he can not be perfect on his own.

But even in the law, there was a way of mercy, and that's why there was a sin offering which offered a temporary forgiveness and remission of sin.

What then would make people interpret the way of God as hard and punishment as a reward from God? Today I pray that you correct your understanding of the ways of God.

Our theme scripture says 'All the ways of the LORD.' Not some, not a few, not sometimes. All the ways of the LORD are loving and faithful. The amplified bible says All the paths of the Lord are mercy and steadfast love, even truth and faithfulness.

Our take out here is that God Himself loves us and has no ill intentions for us. Everything He does, all the ways He leads us to are loving, faithful and true.

Where the twist comes is that only those who keep the demands of his covenant are able to see the goodness of God and His faithfulness in His ways.

People who are on and off, or those who seek the advantage of the way of God without understanding the demands of His covenant always find it a hard thing to live out.

Christ the Messiah showed us that a life without God is burdensome and hard. The opposite of what people think. And that rest would be found in Him.

Matt.11.28 -29 "Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light."

Also remember that Christ is the new covenant between God and man. Therefore, the demands of the covenant of God are actually not trying to obey the law as it was, but taking up the life of Jesus Christ and believing in Him.

Anybody who lives the life of Christ has never seen the ways of God as hard and burdensome and that He rewards by punishing.

Do you want to see the good in the God life? Do you want to taste the sweetness of the law of liberty? Then pickup the yoke of Christ and learn from Him. Live His life.

Hallelujah!
