I look up to the mountains--does my help come from there? My help comes from the LORD, who made the heavens and the earth! (Psalm.121.1-2 NLT)
It's an easy thing to ignore the help of God in the small and little things, in the times of abundance and at the time when everyone seems willing to help.
Like I said, it is only in the time of abundance and willingness of people to help. But what man needs is help in his present time of need. Where then can this kind of help be found?
In most cases, people who trust in the hands of men as their help end up hating anyone who fails to help them. They actually remain trapped in anger and hatred because they actually don't know where the unfailing help can come from.
The Psalmist says, "I look up to the mountains." Then he follows with another question; "Does my help come from there?" While Jerusalem, where the temple was in which was God's dwelling place, was on the hill top, to the Psalmist it was important that he separates the Lord from the dwelling place.
Our help comes from the Lord, not necessarily from places from where He is worshipped. God has designed us to be able to carry His very Presence. The challenge today is that people are acknowledging the places gazetted for meeting as where the presence of God is. They now consecrate the churches more than their hearts for God to dwell in.
The understanding of God being the source of your help will help you desire to cause His very Presence to dwell in you not in the church building.
Hallelujah!
