You would wonder why God did not just modify the state of man but decided to set aside the old man and gave a new nature to those who believe. Also why He didn't just teach Saul His ways but set him out and chose David.
You also see God saying He does a new thing instead of I make the existing look better.
God does not come to make your fallen life better, He does not come to make your past better. God comes to make things new.
When God comes to your aid, be sure to have a fresh start not a continuation from where your ability ended. Even in making us pure and Holy, He comes to regenerate us not to modify.
Titus.3.5 He saved us, not because of any works of righteousness that we had done, but because of His own pity and mercy, by [the] cleansing [bath] of the new birth (regeneration) and renewing of the Holy Spirit,
The Lord God is a God of new beginnings; His mercies are new every morning. He is a God who can erase your past using the newness of the future.
Revelation.21.5 Then He who sat on the throne said, "Behold, I make all things new." And He said to me, "Write, for these words are true and faithful." (NKJV)
Our God is a God of Regeneration not modification!
