Some men's sins are open beforehand, going before to judgment; and some men they follow after. Likewise also the good works of some are manifest beforehand; and they that are otherwise cannot be hid. (1Timothy.5.24 KJV)
God is light, and nothing can be hidden in His presence all things are plain before Him. The night is as the day before Him.
And He rewards everything, good or evil. Also remember that no action is without effect. In most cases the problems or blessing that catch up with us are a result of a past action.
John.3.20-21 Everyone who does evil hates the light, and will not come into the light for fear that his deeds will be exposed. But whoever lives by the truth comes into the light, so that it may be seen plainly that what he has done has been done through God." (NIV)
Some sins are open beforehand, and are judged right there because they are plain; yet some follow after.
It's not only the sins even the good works. Some are manifest beforehand; and they that are otherwise cannot be hid.
What does this mean? Nothing can be hidden forever be it good or bad. You can do it in the deepest darkness and in the absence of witnesses. But there is a law in motion that all things must be revealed.
One day, after Moses had grown up, he went out to where his own people were and watched them at their hard labor. He saw an Egyptian beating a Hebrew, one of his own people. Glancing this way and that and seeing no one, he killed the Egyptian and hid him in the sand.
Yet when he found two Hebrews fighting, what he didn't expect to be known was mentioned.
The man said, "Who made you ruler and judge over us? Are you thinking of killing me as you killed the Egyptian?" Then Moses was afraid and thought, "What I did must have become known." (Exodus.2.14 NIV)
That was before men, how much more secrets of men are before God? What you do today has an effect on tomorrow.
It therefore calls for a clear conscience to mind whatever you do. Strive to always do good even in the secret because a time is coming when the secrets will be made manifest and rewarded.
