Matthew.6.12 and forgive us our sins, just as we have forgiven those who have sinned against us. (NLT)
In the death of Jesus Christ, we understand that God forgave the sins we inherited from our forefathers. The Adamic sin was forgiven in Christ.
But there is something that we should understand; in some versions the word used is debts. Which means something owed, that is figuratively a due; a moral fault.
And in James.4.17, the Bible says "Therefore, to him who knows to do good and does not do it, to him it is sin." (NKJV)
There are so many things that God has revealed to us which are good and are supposed to be carried out. The unfortunate part is that people either deliberately refuse to do choosing their own will, or fail to do because of ignorance.
In this case forgiveness is required.
Now, here is the twist, it is important that we forgive fellow humans for the fault they have done to us before the father forgives our faults too.
But we should not forgive because we want to be forgiven. Forgiveness should come as a result of understanding that God first loved us and forgave us and we too should do the same for others.
What then does the theme scripture actually bring to plain sight? Love. Enter the presence of God with love not holding anyone in your heart.
Or else you are serving the God you know not.
1John.4.7-8 Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God. Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love. (NIV)
The protocol is that we set free and forgive others before we go to the father to commune.
Hallelujah!
