John.1.10-11 He came into the world, and though the world was made through Him, the world did not recognize Him [did not know Him]. He came to that which belonged to Him [to His own - His domain, creation, things, world], and they who were His own did not receive Him and did not welcome Him. (AMP)
What does it take to recognize somebody or something? Most profound, You need their voice or sound, the appearance, the feel(touch) and the Name.
How come the world could not recognize Him when He came? They knew not his voice nor The Name. They had the mental picture of what their Messiah should look like but still failed to recognize Him when He came.
So, He said, "I am the good shepherd; I know my sheep and my sheep know me-- My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me." (John.10.14,27 NIV)
Of all the things we use to recognize, knowing the voice is most powerful. Every christian should strive to separate the voice of God from the many voices echoing in their hearts and minds.
Many people have heard wrong voices and yet are sure they heard God. When the true voice of God comes, they are unable to recognize it.
Allow me remind you, the devil is the father of all lies. Again, let me use nature to teach us something.
The Superb Lyrebird is renowned as the world's best avian mimic, capable of imitating nearly any sound it hears. These birds replicate the calls of other birds, mammal sounds, and human-made noises like chainsaws, car alarms, cameras, and human speech.
That is exactly what the devil does. It tries to replicate, to mimic the voice of God yet carrying lies and destruction in its voice.
Now if Jesus says His sheep hear His voice, if there are sheep which just don't want to hear the shepherd speak but just go where other sheep are going, how will they know His voice?
I am taking about the christian who wants to be fed by other christians yet don't desire a direct relationship with Jesus Christ. You enjoy listening to people's revelation of God, when will you have an experience with Him yourself?
For that reason, your are not attuned to the frequency from which God speaks to you. When somebody says "I heard God tell me so clearly that..." Doesn't it cause you to think about how the voice of God sounds and how come they heard Him loud and clear?
I know many people have that question in their minds. That ability is not for the Apostle or Prophet only, it's for all the sheep of Jesus Christ. Now, here is the secret to fix it.
Invest in the relationship with Jesus Christ. Revelation 3.20 is not for unbelievers only, it is also for those people who have not built a relationship with Jesus Christ.
Revelation.3.20 Behold, I stand at the door and knock; if anyone hears and listens to and heeds My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and will eat with him, and he [will eat] with Me. (AMP)
It is not a call for just confession, it's a call for a relationship. Questions like "man of God, what is God saying?" Well, before I answer you, what has He told you when you went to Him such that we compare and confirm?
1Cor.2.13 Which things also we speak, not in the words which man's wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual.
Don't be mislead, don't be deceived. Don't miss your moment of visitation. Start or strength your relationship with the Trinity. Then see how clear His voice becomes and you will never miss your visitation.
