THERE IS NO REGRET IN CHRIST

Matthew.19.27 Peter answered him, "We have left everything to follow you! What then will there be for us?" (NIV)

Have you ever made a decision which seemed the best initially but then turns out to be the worst and full of regret?

Well, the decision to accept Jesus Christ and have faith in Him is no such decision. At the Confession moment, all things are made new: you leave your old life, your friends start to change, like everything in and around you becomes new. (2Cor.5.17).

When Jesus talked of what seemed impossible— it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God." It astonished His own disciples causing them to doubt their decision to follow Him.

Matthew.19.25 When the disciples heard this, they were greatly astonished and asked, "Who then can be saved?" (NIV)

These men had abandoned the lives they lived including what they had, and at this point, it seemed their decision was going to hit shipwreck.

And then comes Peter in our theme scripture to ask the point which I believe disturbed them all; "We have left everything to follow you! What then will there be for us?"

Child of God you were told in Christ everything is going to be good. You were promised the best. What you saw at the time of believing and then confessing was the best. Now everything seems the opposite.

I am here to tell you that everything you heard as long as it was the true gospel is true and works for anybody who believes.

Your decision is not one with a dead end. Here is what, above all God has prepared for you;

Matthew.19.28-29 Jesus said to them, "I tell you the truth, at the renewal of all things, when the Son of Man sits on his glorious throne, you who have followed me will also sit on twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel. And everyone who has left houses or brothers or sisters or father or mother or children or fields for my sake will receive a hundred times as much and will inherit eternal life. (NIV)

Is there anything God has missed out here? I say no because: one, we will also sit on twelve thrones(this is position and authority). Two, we will receive a hundred times as much as what we left (wealth, friends, godly pleasure, family, anything that you left to get Christ first). And finally, we will inherit eternal life.

So, are things working otherwise? Don't loose your faith. Don't step out of Christ. Because the best is yet to come.

Don't be like those who, when they are just a step away from what God all along has been preparing for them, walk away.

You are written in God's palm and He thinks about you, he plans for you, He is working behind the scenes. Your condition is just but a wind. There is surely the best for those who are in Christ.

What could make men to give up their lives instead of denouncing their confession? What could make Job suffer all the loss and affliction yet refuse to curse the God He believed in. I mean Job was not even in this dispensation of Grace.

If they didn't regret, how then can regret be found in the Son of God, the author and finisher of our faith.

Hallelujah!
