THE JOY IN THE PRESENCE OF GOD

Psalm.46.4 There is a river whose streams make glad the city of God, the holy place where the Most High dwells. (NIV)

People find pleasure in the bars, discos, secular parties, and anything else that they find their pleasure in. But to what extent does their pleasure extend to bring joy and peace?

Because true and last joy comes from satisfaction, yet nothing in this world can satisfy.

As a gift from God to them whom He has made his dwelling place, and who abide in Him, there is a river whose streams make glad the city of God. Which city you are as a child of God.

This river springs out from His presence. The water thereof brings joy to them who drink, keeps them cool and refreshed.

By this very river He leads His people.(Psalm 23.2 ..... He leadeth me beside the still waters. KJV)

The River we are talking about is the Jesus Christ and the streams the Holy Spirit.

John.7.38-39 Whoever believes in me, as the Scripture has said, streams of living water will flow from within him." By this he meant the Spirit, whom those who believed in him were later to receive. ....

When we believe, we drink from Jesus Christ who is the fountain.

What kept Moses up the Mountain for a period that alarmed the Israelites? What caused Enoch to outstay any other person in God's presence? What made the Psalmist say, "I will dwell in the house of the LORD forever."

It is the joy they found in the presence of God. Where the Spirit of God is, there is joy, peace and hope.

Hallelujah!
