THE BEAUTY OF GOD'S CHILDREN

Your beauty should not come from outward adornment, such as braided hair and the wearing of gold jewelry and fine clothes. Instead, it should be that of your inner self, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is of great worth in God's sight. (1Peter.3.3 - 4)

Think about what the world calls beauty and how one can arrive to it—nice shoe, wrist watch, nice clothing, good hair looks and so on.

Should the church of God use the same observations to assess beauty? I pray not. Because, the true beauty of a child of God does not lie in the outward appearance.

What is visible is simply a result of the state of the inner man.

Scripture tells us that our beauty should not come from outward adornment, but Instead, it should be that of the inner self, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit.

And how do we get the gentle and quiet spirit?

Jesus Christ in Matthew.11.29 said, "Take My yoke upon you and learn of Me, for I am gentle (meek) and humble (lowly) in heart, and you will find rest (relief and ease and refreshment and recreation and blessed quiet) for your souls. (AMP)

Jesus Christ is the true beauty of man. If we learn to put on His yoke and learn from Him, we begin to bloom with beauty. In this light, Paul taught something. He said;

Rather, clothe yourselves with the Lord Jesus Christ, and do not think about how to gratify the desires of the sinful nature. (Romans.13.14 NIV)

When you think about beauty, think about your heart and relationship with God not purchasing that first hand pair of suits or shoes and using the coolest cosmetics.

This God we serve gives beauty for ashes and dresses the wild flowers. The trends of fashion don't define the beauty of a child of God the way Jesus Christ does.

If one day you met the devil in nice clothing, does that change the definition of who he is? An absolute no! The devil remains having destructive plans. Infact a story is told that one time the devil disguised himself as an angel of light to try to trick Seth, Adam's son. But he held that nature for just a while.

True beauty does no fade. And Christ gives us unfading Glory. Know today that Jesus Christ is your beauty before God and before men.

A gentle and quiet spirit is of great worth in God's sight.

Hallelujah!
