HOLDING TO GOD AMIDST SUCCESS

Israel was a spreading vine; he brought forth fruit for himself. As his fruit increased, he built more altars; as his land prospered, he adorned his sacred stones. (Hosea.10.1 NIV)

The Lord is not selfish with His blessing. He blesses whoever He wants to. And expands whoever He wants to.

But there is something that is suffocating the blessings people have received and is cutting off the supply. Many people at ground level trust and fear God, respecting the Alter from which they met God. But things change completely when they continue to expand.

While in Egypt, they cried to the God of their forefathers and He heard them. He delivered them out of slavery and settled them in the land flowing with milk and honey. Their prosperity was impossible to ignore. But something went wrong and the Prophet Hosea saw it.

Israel was a spreading vine; he brought forth fruit for himself. As his fruit increased, he built more altars; as his land prospered, he adorned his sacred stones.

Their prosperity started to bend their hearts to foreign gods and their abundance led them to worship sacred stones instead of the Lord their God.

Are some Christians of today any different? No. Many people have abandoned the one true Alter of God in their lives. They have become worshippers of their prosperity and possession. Some worshipping themselves.

The more they expand, the more they deviate from God. Their fruit is for themselves not God.

No matter how much you expand and prosper, don't forget the God who picked you from grass to grace. The God who pulled you out of condemnation to forgiveness.

Sooner or later you must stand before that same God to account for everything you have done. [Revelation 20.12].

Selah!

Hallelujah!
