YOU ARE NOT FORSAKEN

See, I have engraved you on the palms of my hands; your walls are ever before me. (Isaiah.49.16 NIV)

Some people think God has forgotten then or has forsaken then. God is not a man that He should forget His own creation. Women can forget their own children after damping them off or abandoning them, but God can not.

Circumstances around you would make you think God no longer cares. You leave one problem just to enter another. Chased from the rental house then again divorce, no tuition to sickness, ....

You might be cursing yourself or maybe blaming yourself, heaping guilt in your heart because of your situation. Now you look like a ruined city with walls lying like a heap of rocks.

Yet the Lord of love has not forgotten nor forsaken you. He says, "See, I have engraved you on the palms of my hands; your walls are ever before me."

He has not merely written! He has engraved. Like cutting out a writing on stone as He did on the tablets of stone for the ten commandments He gave to Moses.

Your name is permanently printed on His hand. He says even your desolation, your ruins, your troubled heart and life, your pain, lies before Him. He looks at it daily.

He is not sitting there just watching you, God is working behind the scenes. What you thought was rejection and abandonment is soon turning into the greatest moment of love you have ever experienced.

Sometimes God just wants to move you out of comfort, pass you through the wilderness then gets you into rest. You are crying for comfort while in the wilderness, trust God, He wants to give you rest.

In Egypt the Israelites were comfortable yet labored so heard. In the land they were to enter, they didn't have to labor, for it flowed with milk and honey. That would be rest. But the wilderness was necessary to prove their patience and trust in God.

God does not want to just give you comfort, He wants to give you rest. You are therefore not forsaken. Your place of rest is being made ready.

Hallelujah!
