We love Him, because He first loved us. (1John.4.19 AMP)
The life God wants mankind to live is not one which tries to win the love of God, or one that is trying to draw the attention of God to love them.
Scripture has given us the pattern of God's love for man. "He first loved us." What does this mean? Before we understood love, before we started to love, before we started seeking His face, He already loved us and looked upon us with mercy.
We therefore don't need to try to win the love of God but rather understand and acknowledge the million reasons to love Him back.
Jesus Christ, The sacrifice God gave to save man is perfect, and is enough. There is nothing we can do to win God's love which He already gave. All we need to do is receive that love.
When God loved us, He gave us His Spirit to help us know How to love.
Romans.5.5 ..., for God 's love has been poured out in our hearts through the Holy Spirit Who has been given to us. (AMP)
Because of the knowledge of the love of God, we too love others not because they are loving us back but because it's the nature of Love to love even when there is no reason. Love is a fruit of the Spirit God has given us.
