YOUR GENEROSITY IS NOT IN VAIN

That night the king could not sleep; so he ordered the book of the chronicles, the record of his reign, to be brought in and read to him. It was found recorded there that Mordecai had exposed Bigthana and Teresh, two of the king's officers who guarded the doorway, who had conspired to assassinate King Xerxes.(Esther.6.1 -2 NIV)

We almost get offended when our good deeds are not rewarded by men, perhaps even the very person you saved from trouble. Yet the bible tells us not to get weary of doing good to all people.

Child of God, always remember that no good work done in the fear of God goes unrewarded. [1 Corinthians 15.58].

Our theme scripture is part of an account of one man–Mordecai, who saved the life of a king yet was not rewarded at that time. But when their enemies had conspired to destroy their whole clan, something remarkable happened.

The Bible says the night before the annihilation of the Jews of which Mordecai was not an exception, the king could not sleep; so he ordered the book of the chronicles, the record of his reign, to be brought in and read to him. It was found recorded there that Mordecai had exposed Bigthana and Teresh, two of the king's officers who guarded the doorway, who had conspired to assassinate King Xerxes.

We don't need to get offended when we are not rewarded. The joy that God sees what you have done and will certainly reward you should guard your heart.

In most cases God stores up our good works to be rewarded at a time when our present strength can not speak but our past generosity.

Jesus in Matthew.6.19 -20 said, "Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moth and rust do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal."

Present rewards of men are treasures on earth. But every good work in the sight of God is a treasure in heaven and can never be destroyed or stolen.

Are you feeling offended that nobody recognizes you hand in their lives? Remember this: you reap what you sow, but not necessarily from where you sow.

Jeremiah.31.16 This is what the LORD says: "Restrain your voice from weeping and your eyes from tears, for your work will be rewarded," declares the LORD. "They will return from the land of the enemy. (NIV)

Your labor will soon be remembered, your generosity will soon be rewarded. They will lose sleep until they advantage you.

Hallelujah!
