God chose him for this purpose long before the world began, but now in these final days, he was sent to the earth for all to see. And he did this for you. (1Peter.1.20 NLT)
No man is certainly walking in the perfect will of God from the start to the end on their own. For when their flesh at some point overrides, they surely stumble.
In the perfectness of creation, God made man, yet he stumbled. Similarly, in the perfectness of purpose, He brought you to this world. Yet we stumble in one way or another.
Knowing this, God chose a way, a present way to redeem man and restore him to His perfect will. This way is Jesus Christ. God chose him for this purpose long before the world began. Because it needed to be made manifest at the time needed, the way, now in these final days, was sent to the earth for all to see. And he did this for us.
So why do we celebrate Christmas?
It is to constantly refresh our spirits to recognize the redemptive plans of God in our day to day life. It is a moment to remind us, as we join as a family that God is always working on our imperfections.
Rejoices then, with the understanding that God has you in His hands and never casting you off because of your setbacks.
This is how much God loved you: He gave his Son, His one and only Son. And this is why: so that you need not be destroyed; by believing in him, you can have a whole and lasting life. [John.3.16]
