And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose. (Romans.8.28 KJV)
When everything looks crappy, sometimes people find it heard to stay in the divine plan of God as they start to doubt the presence of God in such chaotic situations.
Our theme scripture is teaching us what we really need to examine when we are in such situations. It says that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.
We really don't need to look for the presence of God in such situations but rather examine if what led us into such situations are really pointing to the love of God and His purpose.
Paul cautions us to keep our conscience clear and completely unimpaired. Why? Because it is possible for us to boast in the suffering with a hope that it is by God and for God yet we are actually out of His will.
1Peter.3.17 It is better, if it is God's will, to suffer for doing good than for doing evil. (NIV)
Elsewhere He says, "Test yourselves to make sure you are solid in the faith. Don't drift along taking everything for granted. Give yourselves regular checkups. You need firsthand evidence, not mere hearsay, that Jesus Christ is in you. Test it out. If you fail the test, do something about it."
As long as what you are going is in the will of God, there is a sure presence of God and His hand at work in it. So scripture says, for as long as you love God and have been called according to His purpose, all things will always work for your good. Because;
God knew what he was doing from the very beginning. He decided from the outset to shape the lives of those who love him along the same lines as the life of his Son. The Son stands first in the line of humanity he restored. We see the original and intended shape of our lives there in him. (Romans.8.29 MSB)
The place of walking the predestined life is for those who are loved by God and have also loved Him back. People who find themselves lingering outside God's predestination are those loved by God yet have not loved Him back.
The deepest level of intimacy with God is when man surrenders his will and lets God's will be. It is the highest way man can show his love for God.
A father says, "My son, give me your heart and let your eyes observe and delight in my ways," (Prov.23.26 AMP). The word used for heart in this scripture means feelings, will and intellect. This is all God asks for from a man. Just to show his love for Him. This is what it really means to believe in God—
You give up what you think you can and wait for Him to do it His way. Just sit and observe and delight in his ways.
People who sit in this position see no destruction in the storm because all is for their good. Even in what is intended to harm, God intends it for good to accomplish His purpose.
Hallelujah!
