UNFAILING TRUST IN GOD

But even if he doesn't, it wouldn't make a bit of difference, O king. We still wouldn't serve your gods or worship the gold statue you set up." (Daniel.3.18 MSB)

Being put into prison, thrown into fire, sentenced to death or publicly persecuted, would any of these change your confession and alter your faith in God?

Many people have a belief that it is always "a set-them-free." But let's learn from Daniel and his companions. The king had put them between death(if they refused to denounce their God) and life(if they served the statue).

In verse 17, they acknowledge the saving power of God. "If we are thrown into the blazing furnace, the God we serve is able to save us from it, and he will rescue us from your hand, O king."

Then comes our theme scripture in which they teach us that if it necessitates that we suffer for the sake of the name of our God, we should be ready to accept it, but never at any point denounce our confession. "But even if He doesn't, it wouldn't make a bit of difference, O king. We still wouldn't serve your gods or worship the gold statue you set up."

Revelation.2.10 Do not be afraid of what you are about to suffer. I tell you, the devil will put some of you in prison to test you, and you will suffer persecution for ten days. Be faithful, even to the point of death, and I will give you the crown of life. (NIV)

Christ Himself has told the church to be faithful, even to the point of death. Yes, there are situations that come necessarily to test us, and we have to go through them. Remain faithful.

Jesus Christ whom we boast about gave His life for us. How be it that we would not be willing to be spent that the gospel is made firm in the hearts of people.

Maybe your unfailing trust in God and hope for His reward is the only way Christ can be made known to your adversaries. Remain faithful even to the point of death!

Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord. (1Corinthians.15.58 KJV)

Hallelujah!
