LIVING IN THE DIVINE NATURE

As obedient children, do not conform to the evil desires you had when you lived in ignorance. (1Peter.1.14 NIV)

The new life in Christ has nothing in common with the old man that we possessed before receiving Him. The old man was directed and guided by the lust and desire of the flesh. The new man is the nature of God Himself.

While the two are very different, there are people who are trying to make a hybrid. They say they are a new creation, yet they conform to the desires they had when in ignorance. To conform is to fashion yourself; to make alike; to have a similar design.

So these people say they are born of God but their entire life is a clear reflection of the ignorance of the requirements of the Gospel.

Now, as obedient children, who are submissive to God, let's not conform to the evil desires we had when we lived in ignorance.

At the entrance of Christ, God made known to us His will and what He requires of us. In the days of the old, men consulted the prophets to hear the word of God and to ask of His requirements. But now, we have the fullness of God in us, even Christ.

For in Him the whole fullness of Deity (the Godhead) continues to dwell in bodily form [giving complete expression of the divine nature]. (Col.2.9 AMP)

We therefore should not be carried anywhere by sensuality like chuff tossed by wind. Be directed by the divine nature of God. For whatever does not align to divine requirement compromises with the nature of God in you and seeks to shape you according to the standard of the world.

Hallelujah!
