Saying that wait on the Lord is an easy thing to do. Infact, everyone would make this a final counsel to a struggling brother or sister. But you see when in trouble, waiting is something that requires strength.
A troubled soul is predisposed to weakness and it struggles to stand. In most cases waiting itself becomes a test of strength. So where the strength comes from is the gist of the matter.
Scripture is saying Wait on the LORD: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart. It means God looks at the state of the heart, searching it's depth to see how much you are ready to wait on Him. Then, finding one ready to trust in Him, He gives the strength.
The mistake we make is saying that we are waiting on the Lord yet are seeking for ways to get the strength to keep waiting. "As I am waiting, let this or that first be serving my need" they say. By the fact that you get something to replace or give you the courage to keep waiting, you have shifted your trust.
Let the word that God has said be what gives you the strength to wait. Not your human survival tactics. Do you know why it is written that Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds out of the mouth of God? Because the word has power and strength; for it is life and spirit.
God is seeking for a heart which is ready to trust in Him without having a secondary option that He may give strength to wait on Him.
Hallelujah!
