CHRIST —THE VOICE OF THE NEW COVENANT

Then answered Peter, and said unto Jesus, Lord, it is good for us to be here: if thou wilt, let us make here three tabernacles; one for thee, and one for Moses, and one for Elias. While he yet spake, behold, a bright cloud overshadowed them: and behold a voice out of the cloud, which said, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased; hear ye him.(Matthew.17.4 - 5 KJV)

Christ took with him Peter, James and John while he went up to pray. Scripture says He was transfigured before them and there appeared Elijah and Moses speaking to Him. Now our great speaker Peter, said unto Jesus, "Lord, it is good for us to be here: if thou wilt, let us make here three tabernacles; one for thee, and one for Moses, and one for Elias."

According to the Bible, Moses is the representation of the law and Elijah the prophets. Also remember that Christ represents the new covenant. So what was Peter actually asking for? Let me tell you today. He was asking for this: In this new covenant, let's give a place for the law, the Prophets and the Grace which is Christ.

It was important that Christ took these three because they would be the pillars in the spread of Gospel. By heaven it was very important that Christ is set above all in their presence thus the voice from heaven: "This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased; hear ye him."

The law and the Prophets were a witnesses of this new covenant [Romans.3.21]. They were given to point men to the coming of Christ Jesus.

Today in church we are having people who have built tabernacles for Moses and Elijah in their hearts. But today I have come to remind you that Christ is the only voice that we should listen to.

For Moses truly said unto the fathers, A prophet shall the Lord your God raise up unto you of your brethren, like unto me; him shall ye hear in all things whatsoever he shall say unto you. And it shall come to pass, that every soul, which will not hear that prophet, shall be destroyed from among the people. Yea, and all the prophets from Samuel and those that follow after, as many as have spoken, have likewise foretold of these days. (Acts.3.22 -24)

Christ is the fulfilment of the law [Romans 10.4], and also the last of the Prophets [Hebrews 1.1-2]. What more do you want from the Law and the prophets that is not in Christ. Listen to Christ and live.

Hallelujah
