THE POWER OF EMBRACING THE RIGHTEOUSNESS OF GOD

The righteous shall flourish like a palm tree, He shall grow like a cedar in Lebanon. (Psalm.92.12 NKJV)

More than never before should people embraced righteousness imputed by God [Romans .9] and understand its power in our day-to-day life and the life to come.

Many of us have read about how the lifespan of man is drastically decreasing and how even the obvious things are able to put the life of man to an end.

It amazes me the choices of trees the Bible uses in our theme scripture today: the palm and cedar. The palm tree is long-lived (perennial), stately, and in most cases upright tree with over a hundred uses. What amazes me the most is that it is always fruitful in all seasons and almost any climate. This tree is noted to have played a big role in enabling humanity to colonize desert and desolate lands.

Cedar on the other hand is a majestic and stable tree, with durable wood, and is incorruptible. In the ancient times and even now, it is mostly used for construction. Infact the house built by Solomon for God had a large percentage of cedar. Cedar wood was also used in cleansing rituals and sacrifices.

You have known something small about the choice of the trees in our theme scripture. Think about what you become if you understood and embraced the righteousness of God. It is just a comparison given here but you become more that what is described about these trees. I mean, you are of more use than these trees, able to bear fruit than they do and can wax higher and stronger than them.

Stop being comfortable with your own works of righteousness and embrace righteousness imputed by God based on and produced by faith.

Hallelujah!
