Daily expect the Day of God, eager for its arrival. The galaxies will burn up and the elements melt down that day-- but we'll hardly notice. We'll be looking the other way, ready for the promised new heavens and the promised new earth, all landscaped with righteousness. [JC] (2Peter.3.12-13 MSB)
Teachings upon preachings have been spoken into our ears concerning the coming of the Lord Jesus Christ which is of value to us who believe and of disadvantage to them that are to perish.
But as the word says, He will come as a thief [1Thessalonians 5.2]. For God will not appoint a day on our calendars and make an announcement. However, it will be a surprise only to they that are in darkness. The signs that precede His coming will come upon them like child birth pangs.
So what does scripture tell the children of the light? "Daily expect the Day of God, eager for its arrival." Prepare yourself to receive Him anytime. This is what gives the distinction between those in light and darkness: Those in the light will be looking the other way, ready for the promised new heavens and the promised new earth, all landscaped with righteousness while those in darkness will focus on the signs of His coming.
The coming of the Lord will cause trembling to they that are not ready yet joy to those ready and prepared. There are people who have set themselves to the tracing of the signs of the coming. Everyday searching out news on wars, galaxies natural hazards and so much more. But is that what God wants us to focus on?
God wants us to focus on life in Him and not the life outside. Whatever happens outside is not meant to cause trembling to a believer. The only thing to do is focusing on a godly life. All things of the earth will grow strangely dim when you set your eyes on Him.
Hallelujah!
