Different people and cultures have different beliefs on how to really touch the heart of the God they serve. Today I have come not to say this is the only important things when it comes to our relationship with God.
It's not a mystery to say that it's out of disobedience that sin and eventually death came into the world. On the other hand, by obedience, Grace and consequently life came into the world. [Romans 5.19, Hebrews 5.8]
Nobody on earth is as loved by God as one who is obedient because obedience is the center of Love. Obedience is possessing God Himself.
2John.1.6 And this is love: that we walk in obedience to his commands. As you have heard from the beginning, his command is that you walk in love. (NIV)
No amount of prayer can purify you. No amount of giving and sacrifice will make you right. It's only an obedient heart. Because of Christ's obedience we are purified by his blood. Obedience is freedom from sin.
If we want to be part of God's kingdom of priests and a holy nation, then let's learn to be obedient.
