And show your own self in all respects to be a pattern and a model of good deeds and works, teaching what is unadulterated, showing gravity [having the strictest regard for truth and purity of motive], with dignity and seriousness. (Titus.2.7 AMP)
Is it sufficient to preach and not give a physical template? I don't think so. Education systems have shown the importance of visual aids in learning. Infact they make what is written a reality and applicable.
The same is with the word of God. However, we don't need visual aids, we are the aids ourselves. That is why scripture is saying show your own self in all respects to be a pattern and a model of good deeds and works, teaching what is unadulterated, showing gravity, with dignity and seriousness.
We should not behave like signposts which show where someone should go yet they themselves stay in the same position.
Allow the word of God to paint you into a perfect poster that can be observed by other by the things you do and say. Or else we might become the very reason people are taking the Christian life for granted.
