THE CONTINUITY OF THE BLESSING

The LORD swore to David a promise he will never take back: "I will place one of your descendants on your throne. If your descendants obey the terms of my covenant and follow the decrees that I teach them, then your royal line will never end." (Psalm.132.11-12 NLT)

The mutual love between God and David can somehow be told by the vows David made to God and the promises God made to David. Among those great promises is the continuity of the Royal line

In the book of 1Kings 2.1-4, David echoes the same promise to his Son Solomon, who was to inherit the throne, charging him to keep the covenant and decrees of God. However a close study of scripture shows that Solomon and even those who followed failed to keep this and the kingdom was eventually torn. Thanks be to Christ the Son of David and son of God who has reconciled the Kingdom and kept the throne.

This must send flushes into our nerves concerning the continuity of blessings that were spoken to our fathers to us and also from us to our children. Selah.

Priesthood was taken away from the house of Eli because God found none of his sons worthy to carry it on of which it led to the departure of the Glory from Israel. [1 Samuel 1-4].

It is a two way act; parents should learn to teach their children the way of the Lord and to hear Him while children should also learn to hear their parents and walk in the way of the Lord.

Behind every blessing is a promise and every promise has a covenant with terms for it's fulfilment. We have been invited to the blessings of God in Christ, but are we going to be diligent enough to keep the way of truth in Christ? Make the question personal before you start complaining to God.

It's not enough that you are born in a blessed family or to a blessed father or mother. It extends to your personal relationship with the blessings flowing in the family.

God is teaching us everyday, the more you learn and walk in the way of God, the more blessing open to you.

Hallelujah!
