For once you were darkness, but now you are light in the Lord; walk as children of Light [lead the lives of those native-born to the Light]. (Ephesians.5.8 AMP)
Each one of us has history to tell about what we were before we met Christ. A thought of what you would have been if you didn't meet Him would even make you more puzzled. That kind of Life the Bible calls darkness.
It might have not been so bad to be noticed especially for those who grew up in christian environments but believe me there were potholes in your lifestyle. There are things that only you and your God knows.
Today's scripture is not just a reminder but an accelerator of the manifestation of the Godward life. Once, before our encounter with Christ, our lives were full of darkness but now God calls us the light of the world, cities upon the hill that can not be hidden.
It is a call to every form of kindly goodness, uprightness of heart, and trueness of life for in these is the effect of the light that we are. Living lives of those native-born to the Light also means that we take no part in and have no fellowship with the fruitless deeds and enterprises of darkness, but instead be so in contrast as to expose and reprove and convict them.
Transparency should be our nature as those native-born of light.
