THE DANGER OF SEASONAL FAITH

Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me. (John.15.4 KJV)

"A rolling stone gathers no moss" as once mentioned by Publilius Syrus may also be true for a person who has a seasonal relationship with God. It would be unfair to think that all people have a constant relationship with God.

If it was so then why the caution in the theme scripture? "Abide in me, and I in you." There are people who have taken Christ as a visitor like they always say; "I had a visitation yesterday." But Christ wants to dwell in us richly.

Christ should not be a visitor whom you just prepare to host and see Him off. Christ wants to dwell in us even as we dwell in Him. Gone are the days when God was found only in the most holy place where only the High Priest was allowed. Today it's by faith!

May Christ through your faith [actually] dwell (settle down, abide, make His permanent home) in your hearts! May you be rooted deep in love and founded securely on love, (Ephesians.3.17 AMP)

What does it mean to say Christ does not abide in you and you in Him? Your faith is seasonal. Today you relate with God, tomorrow you relate with what the world calls "facts."

To ensure continuous growth, a child needs to be fed continuously, so it is with maturity in God. Don't be like a rolling stone because you will end up empty handed.

Hallelujah!
