Nobody loves stripes on their body cause the cause pain. However a stripe can come from either the righteous for the sake of correction or the wicked for evil reasons.
The Psalmist says let a righteous man strike me-it is a kindness; let him rebuke me-it is oil on my head. The sure thing about rebuke from a righteous person is that it works to your own righteousness. It's like an anointing on your head.
So the prayer you should make is not that no stripe touches you, but that the striking of a righteous man does. Your prayer also should be that the wicked and and their deeds are far from you. The Psalmist's prayer always was that the works of the wicked don't always dominate his way.
Never live a life of running away from rebuke or be comfortable when nobody rebukes you at all. Always ask God to help you encounter the people who come to shape your life positively and keep the negative away.
Hallelujah!
