The story of the prodigal son is such an interesting one that everytime I read it, I am reminded of how God deals with his children. You see before judgement is passed on anyone, there is a tendency of self judgement.
This boy had given up on the identity as a son and had set to be a servant. But as scripture spells out, his father paid no attention. Instead the father aimed at restoring his identity as a son.
God is not interested in the things you have done, this is not a God who writes your iniquity on your face for the world to see. He wants to restore you to the perfect plan He has for you.
Many people have been choked by the feeling of worthlessness. You might have failed to complete your education because, say, you indulged yourself in relationships, or lost your job because of some faults, or you feel the miserable life you are living now is because of your disobedience.
God says renew your mind. It doesn't matter how or when but the plan of God for you still stands. I have seen people come to their senses and really feel late. Making statements like "I wish I learned this earlier."
God, being love keeps no record of sins. If You, Lord, should keep account of and treat [us according to our] sins, O Lord, who could stand? (Psalm.130.3 AMP)
Up-to-date, the Spirit of Elijah, which was also in John the Baptist works wonders. The heart of the father is turned to the son. Yes the son is on wrong but the father accepts him as he is.
The only thing that might be holding you from progress is the feeling of worthlessness and guilt everytime the best is presented to you by God. God is not done with you yet. Forget the past, behold the future.
Hallelujah!
