IDENTITY ABOVE DOMINION

Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you. Notwithstanding in this rejoice not, that the spirits are subject unto you; but rather rejoice, because your names are written in heaven.(Luke.10.19 - 20 KJV)

It pleased God that we rule over the devil and all the principalities. And that we have dominion over all things; so He gave us the power and the authority. This power as demonstrated by the Disciples is still being demonstrated today by the children of God.

While this power is given unto us, it is not the primary reason as to why God has called us. God has called us to have a place in Him. Christ told His disciples; I beheld Satan as lightning fall from heaven. However, do not rejoice that the spirits submit to you, but rejoice that your names are written in heaven."

Our joy should be that we have a place in God. There is a difference between the voice of one with authority and not a son and of one who is a son with authority. Rejoice that you are recorded by heaven as a son or daughter of God.

People who have understood the difference don't seek to prove their authority over the demons instead even demons announce their identify because of the place they have in God. Take a look at this scripture;

Luke.8.28 When he saw Jesus, he cried out and fell at his feet, shouting at the top of his voice, "What do you want with me, Jesus, Son of the Most High God? I beg you, don't torture me!" (NIV)

Take note of the identity. It's important that you allow God to establish you in Him. We pray for power, pray for dominion, pray for leadership but all that is not primary. The Love that exists between a father and a son is what we need the most. There are things that parents don't show their children not because they don't love them but because their knowledge of their true identity is still questionable. Or they don't have an interest to know who their parent is.

Don't crave for the authority and power;

For the Gentiles (heathen) wish for and crave and diligently seek all these things, and your heavenly Father knows well that you need them all. But seek (aim at and strive after) first of all His kingdom and His righteousness (His way of doing and being right), and then all these things taken together will be given you besides. (Matt.6.32-33 AMP)

Hallelujah!
