But I said, "Hold it, Master GOD! Look at me. I don't know anything. I'm only a boy!" (Jeremiah.1.6 MSB)
Does God look for certain qualifications in a man to use Him? Certainly not. Our theme scripture as most of us know is of a great prophet who is trying to give an excuse to escape the task God is entrusting Him.
It's not only Him, many of the greatly used people by God have found themselves running and shrinking from the appointment. But they do this not willingly but it's because of the nature of God choice. To them and all who see them, they don't match the –would –be qualifications for such appointments.
God's choice is not always based on our physical and intellectual capabilities. God's choice is based on the state of the heart –OBEDIENCE.
Moses is another man: Exod.4.10 -14 Moses said to the LORD, "O Lord, I have never been eloquent, neither in the past nor since you have spoken to your servant. I am slow of speech and tongue." The LORD said to him, "Who gave man his mouth? Who makes him deaf or mute? Who gives him sight or makes him blind? Is it not I, the LORD? Now go; I will help you speak and will teach you what to say." But Moses said, "O Lord, please send someone else to do it." Then the LORD's anger burned against Moses and he said, "What about your brother, Aaron the Levite? I know he can speak well. He is already on his way to meet you, and his heart will be glad when he sees you.
We can have all the excuses in the world, but God won't take any. By God, you are the right person with a heart that He can deal with to accomplish that task. By the time God appoints a man, He has made all things ready. All that you will ever need is made ready for you.
Who had known that the pregnancy of Elizabeth was so important to the ministry of Jesus Christ? Who had known that Aaron's visit to Moses was planned by God? Who had known that the war between the Israelites and the Philistines was bringing forth a great King?
All that God needs is our obedience! It's not our eloquence, nor the things we esteem so high. You might not match the boxes but God wants you anyway.
Hallelujah!
