For if he lays the foundation and is not able to finish it, everyone who sees it will ridicule him, saying, 'This fellow began to build and was not able to finish.' (Luke.14.29 - 30 NIV)
What is the foundation of your faith? I would say mine is BELIEVING IN THE LORDSHIP OF JESUS CHRIST. I don't know what yours is. Scripture is giving the possibilities of what may happen depending on how prepared you are to take on with construction.
The Bible calls us the temple of God, a house being built, even your faith. See how much ridiculous it would be to construct the foundation and then fail to reach the end of all things. How painful it is for somebody to believe on Jesus Christ and then give up on the way because the have become short of what can grow and build their faith.
Now how can we ensure a constant and progressive growth in the faith?
Scripture says; He Who began a good work in you will continue until the day of Jesus Christ [right up to the time of His return], developing [that good work] and perfecting and bringing it to full completion in you. (Philippians.1.6). This gives me the first point.
Trust the God who called you, not your own strength.
Secondly, accept the Guidance and Help of the Holy Spirit. Stop focusing on your infirmities.
Rom.8.26 Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. (KJV)
Child of God, desire to grow in the faith that we don't bring ridicule to the faith.
Hallelujah!
