1Pet.2.17 Treat everyone you meet with dignity. Love your spiritual family. Revere God. Respect the government. (MSB)
~
In our daily life we meet and interact with several people, people of all categories - Christians, non Christians, young, elderly, noble and even those of lower cadres.
Who they are does not really matter, what matters is how you are going to interact with them. How do you respond to them, how do you talk to them, how do you behave around them?
Scripture is clear; Treat everyone you meet with dignity. This is a caution against partiality and prejudice. Nobody deserves better treatment than the other, and none deserves to be treated badly.
For if you love those who love you, what reward can you have? Do not even the tax collectors do that? And if you greet only your brethren, what more than others are you doing? Do not even the Gentiles (the heathen) do that? You, therefore, must be perfect [growing into complete maturity of godliness in mind and character, having reached the proper height of virtue and integrity], as your heavenly Father is perfect. (Matt.5.46-48 AMP)
Virtue and integrity separate you from those who have not known the nature of God. If you are still struggling with partiality, favoritism and prejudice, question your knowledge of the nature of God. God is love.
When you understand the nature of God, you also learn to treat all people with dignity, to love your brethren, revere God and respect authority. Above these there is no law.
Hallelujah!
