Gal.2.18 For if I build again those things which I destroyed, I make myself a transgressor. (NKJV)
~
When you set your face and heart to follow Jesus, you denounced so many things. It was a decision to let go of your own abilities, and trusting on what only God is able to do.
It was also a moment of denouncing all the secret and wicked desires of the flesh.
All of yours became His and His yours.
However, in one way or another, many people become victims of drawing back to the former state instead of entering a place of a renewed mind. Having denounced their ways, start to crave for them. Oh! Even having known the Grace of God they crave to live under the law.
Dear child of God, regression is very dangerous. Paul says "if I build again those things which I destroyed, I make myself a transgressor." It is sin to turn your back to the Grace and ways of God for your former life.
Do not say, “Why is it that former days were better than these?” For you are not asking wisely concerning this. (Eccl 7.10).
Never set your mind on the former pleasures more so of a life outside Christ.
The consecration of God can set you apart and make you so different from your peers, depriving you of the pleasures that you once had with them, but never feel to draw back.
2Tim.2.19 Nevertheless, God's solid foundation stands firm, sealed with this inscription: "The Lord knows those who are his," and, "Everyone who confesses the name of the Lord must turn away from wickedness." (NIV)
Let God deal with you! Don't envy the past nor they that have not known y
our God.
Hallelujah!
