THE DANGER OF DOUBT AND SUSPICION

Now the serpent was the shrewdest of all the creatures the LORD God had made. "Really?" he asked the woman. "Did God really say you must not eat any of the fruit in the garden?" (Genesis.3.1 NLT)

"Really?"

What was the first felling you got after reading that? I believe you felt doubt and suspicion. Have you been asked a question in an interview or a class and the person says the same? Why do they do it? I'll tell you they want you to doubt yourself and suspect that you are wrong. That is exactly what the devil always wants to fan in you.

The devil does not come to confirm whether you heard God right, he comes to cause you to reconsider your choice in following God's word.

The devil comes to cause you to reason out the spiritual with a carnal mind. That's enough to destroy you.

Look at the twist he made in the word, "Did God really say you must not eat any of the fruit in the garden?" From scripture, Adam was allowed to eat of every fruit except that of knowledge of good and bad. (Genesis 2.16)

Now, God has called us to consecration, to perfection, separation from the world and it's pleasures, it's wisdom and standards.

So the devil comes to cause you to doubt God and suspect that He is keeping something really good from you. And that you are missing out on the best. He brings you to a state of comparison between what God says and what your eyes are open to see.

And like Eve, when she saw that the fruit of the tree was good for food and pleasing to the eye, and also desirable for gaining wisdom, she took some and ate it, many find a stronger reason to look into and go for the dying beauty of the world.

The the devil wants to carry you back at the crossroads where you reconsider and pass God's way through a filter in your head.

The moment you accept to look into the vision he casts, the illusion of better things outside Christ will swallow you.

The desire to have another glance into what they had left in the city caused Lot's wife to look back, and she became a pillar of salt.

Selah! Then take caution.

Hallelujah!
