Greater love has no one than this, than to lay down one's life for his friends. (John.15.13 NKJV)
Sometimes the best bonds are those between friends. Because of how free they can be. Bonds between relatives can be limited by hierarchy, some children are afraid of the parents yet free with friends.
In this way, though He was God, Jesus Christ also showed Himself as a friend giving us a relationship that is free and flexible.
Proverbs.18.24 There are "friends" who destroy each other, but a real friend sticks closer than a brother. (NLT)
There is no real friend we can ever have better than Jesus Christ who for love laid down His life for his friends.
If He gave His life to save His friends, what can't He give to His friends? The problem we have is that we are reserved when talking to the friend we have.
I can't tell how many people out there are scared to speak and pour everything to Jesus Christ. There are pains we carry, things that we have done and have carried their impact hidden in our hearts.
Things that we can not share with human friend. The fear of them being known holds the heart so tight that talking about them is almost impossible.
But Jesus is not like our fellow human friend. He is a kind of friends who does not want to humiliate or embarrass you. When you cast your burden to Him, He does not go around telling everyone.
But until you speak to Him about it, there is nothing He can do to force you to tell Him. He wants your heart. A heart which has opened everything to Him.
Open your heart. Take Jesus Christ as a friend and talk to him. He is ready to listen to you even in secret.
Hallelujah!
