Peter, suddenly bold, said, "Master, if it's really you, call me to come to you on the water." He said, "Come ahead." Jumping out of the boat, Peter walked on the water to Jesus. (Matthew.14.28 MSB)
Boldness....courage.... These seem to exist everywhere.
Guillemots and Eaglets are two birds known for the courage they take to have their first launch into the air. These birds have their first leaps thousands of feet above the sea level, mostly on cliffs.
With all the risks calculable, they still take this breath taking move. That is faith! And the fact remains that if the eaglets don't take this move, they will never be the masters of the air, soaring above heights.
We, like Peter have been granted our need, it takes the leap of faith for us to jump out and walk towards what God has given us and become what we ought to become.
The birds trust their own wings to save them should they jump, but we have a God to trust in.
Isaiah.40.31 But those who wait for the Lord [who expect, look for, and hope in Him] shall change and renew their strength and power; they shall lift their wings and mount up [close to God] as eagles [mount up to the sun]; they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint or become tired. (AMP)
As you advance in God, the cliffs get higher, the slopes become steeper and The waves get stronger. Will you remain in that boat or cliff for fear of these?
Take the same leap of faith you took when the waters were still and the cliff was low. The God who held you above the other time is the same God even today.
Faith is not taking the path with the least calculable risks, it is taking the right path while trusting God.
What is faith? It is the confident assurance that what we hope for is going to happen. It is the evidence of things we cannot yet see. (Hebrews.11.1 NLT)
Take that leap of faith now and you will be amazed how much to will overcome and emerge above.
Hallelujah!
