Men of low degree [in the social scale] are emptiness (futility, a breath) and men of high degree [in the same scale] are a lie and a delusion. In the balances they go up; they are together lighter than a breath. (Psalm.62.9 AMP)
We have heard of first, second and third world countries, first class carbines, VIP seats and so much more in the social scaling.
These social scales are waxing stronger than even the racial separations. The source of exploitation and suppression is no longer bending on the scale of races but on social status.
What is scripture saying today? Men of low degree [in the social scale] are emptiness (futility, a breath) and men of high degree [in the same scale] are a lie and a delusion.
The social statuses we have does not give weight to the spirit nor profit the soul. It is another realm altogether. These status we have are but a breath.
In the sight of God, all men, no matter what they become in this world are equally in the flesh if they lean not on God as their strength.
Nothing in this world is eternal, neither can anything satisfy. So does it matter whether you are of low or high status? It does in this world, but does not equal knowing the Lord your God and taking Him as your portion of inheritance.
Psalm.16.5 O LORD, You are the portion of my inheritance and my cup; You maintain my lot. (NKJV)
Gaining God is more important than gaining a good social stand. We spend a lot of time worrying about how we can improve our social status which can be lost in a blink instead of finding and gaining Him who can then maintain your lot.
We expect that a King is ranked as one of high if not highest standard in a Kingdom. But in the scale of God, King Belshazzar was found wanting. And so was it with King Nebuchadnezzar whom all people feared. [Daniel.5.1-31].
Better to have a good standing with God than among men. For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? (Mark.8.36 KJV)
The Apostle in Philippians.3.8 gives us where attention should be redirected. He says;
"Yes, furthermore, I count everything as loss compared to the possession of the priceless privilege (the overwhelming preciousness, the surpassing worth, and supreme advantage) of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord and of progressively becoming more deeply and intimately acquainted with Him [of perceiving and recognizing and understanding Him more fully and clearly].
For His sake I have lost everything and consider it all to be mere rubbish (refuse, dregs), in order that I may win (gain) Christ (the Anointed One),"(AMP)
Hallelujah!
