THE ARM BEHIND A CLEAR CONSCIENCE–1

How much more, then, will the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself unblemished to God, cleanse our consciences from acts that lead to death, so that we may serve the living God! (Hebrews.9.14 NIV)

The power of our conscience in serving God can never be ignored because it is the center of our confidence before God.

In 1John.3.21, the Amplified Bible says, "And, beloved, if our consciences (our hearts) do not accuse us [if they do not make us feel guilty and condemn us], we have confidence (complete assurance and boldness) before God."

The conscience helps us to judge between good and bad, pure and impure. Our faith leans on our conscience.

When still outside Christ, our consciences were mixed up and void. We were full of guilt, felt condemned and did whatever seemed right. Our theme scripture introduces what can cleanse the consciences from all the acts that lead to death: the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself unblemished to God.

Your conscience is the first thing that God wants to deal with. If at any point you feel your conscience is clouded, look upon the sacrifice He made on the cross for your sake and be constantly renewed in the spirit of your mind [having a fresh mental and spiritual attitude], and put on the new nature (the regenerate self) created in God 's image, [Godlike] in true righteousness and holiness.

Among the many reasons we commune with Christ, eating the bread(which is His flesh) and taking the wine(which is His blood) is for the renewal and constant clearance of our conscience.

Are you overwhelmed with guilt and confusion, come to the Lamb, who is able to cleanse your conscience that you may serve God freely and in the spirit.

Hallelujah!
