A COVENANT MAN'S PRAYER

Isaac prayed to the LORD on behalf of his wife, because she was barren. The LORD answered his prayer, and his wife Rebekah became pregnant. (Genesis.25.21 NIV)

When it comes to fruitfulness, in most cases, we pay attention to the womb that receives the seed and overlook the conversation on the seed bearer.

As we all know or or have read, Rebekah was barren. We would expect that she is cited as the one who went before God to ask for children. This account shows us the power of a prayer flowing from a heart in covenant with God.

Scripture has told us that Isaac prayed to the LORD on behalf of his wife, the LORD answered his prayer, and his wife Rebekah became pregnant.

From Isaac, the same thing happens to his son Jacob. When Rachel saw that she was not bearing Jacob any children, she became jealous of her sister. So she said to Jacob, "Give me children, or I'll die!" Jacob became angry with her and said, "Am I in the place of God, who has kept you from having children?" ( Gen.30.1-2 NIV)

I keep thinking that if Jacob had thought about why Rachel said "give me children" instead of praying to God first and had also gone to God on his wife's behalf like his father did, perhaps things would be a little different.

Carry this knowledge to your family. Men, there is a big role that awaits for you in your marriage life before and even when your wife becomes pregnant. Not just that, raising the children in a godly way demands you too. That role is intercession.

When talking about wombs, it can also refer to any other thing where creation, and formation is done. Where there is a potential for bearing fruit. This can mean the church, your job, your business, your investments and any of those alike.

The same applies to these. Your prayer as the overseer of any of them, as one who has the covenant is very important to determine how they will yield fruit. It's not about having juicy deals in you carrier. I mean, Rebekah was beautiful. Infact she comforted Isaac of his mother's death. Yet she gave no fruit until Isaac a man of covenant prayed.

Before you start complain that your investments are not giving returns, ask yourself; "Have I prayed for the womb where I put my seed?"

Your prayer matters.

The earnest (heartfelt, continued) prayer of a righteous man makes tremendous power available [dynamic in its working]. (James.5.16 AMP)

Hallelujah!
