Alive, I'm Christ's messenger; dead, I'm his bounty. Life versus even more life! I can't lose. As long as I'm alive in this body, there is good work for me to do. If I had to choose right now, I hardly know which I'd choose. (Philippians.1.21-22 MSB)
As children of God, we have not much to choose from when we are alive. We don't need to debate in order to choose what to do. Christ did not give us many things to do except to go to the world as His messengers.
Mark.16.15 Then he said, "Go into the world. Go everywhere and announce the Message of God's good news to one and all. (MSB)
For this reason Paul says, Alive, I'm Christ's messenger. Other translations say to live is Christ. If then we live the life of Christ, then we have to live in his very purpose.
Luke.4.18 -21 "The Spirit of the Lord is on me, because he has anointed me to preach good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners and recovery of sight for the blind, to release the oppressed,.... and he began by saying to them, "Today this scripture is fulfilled in your hearing."
Because of the presence of Christ in us, there is a promise of even more life when we get out of this flesh —dead, I'm his bounty.
Now as we live, it is important to remember that as Children of God, we have a mandate to carry and extend the life of God in us to the whole world. So, as we live in Christ, let's also do the good work He has given us.
Hallelujah!
