THE BOLDNESS TO APPROACH GOD

Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need. (Hebrews.4.16 NKJV)

To God no amount of man's possession is sufficient to give him access to God's throne. No degree of self righteousness as well can grant man a privilege to the throne. This is why it is called the throne of Grace

Grace is God's unmerited favor to us.

We entirely need nothing to approach God save our hearts and mind. So we go to God empty handed that we may receive mercy and find Grace to help us in time of need.

What is our time of need? The greatest need a man has is strength, mercy and compassion which sum up to LOVE. In times when we are weak, we need strength[2 Corinthians 12.9]. In times that a man faults, he needs mercy and compassion when he lacks understanding.

Jesus Christ crucified

Why then are we called to approach the throne of Grace with confidence? Because there is one who is a High Priest–Jesus Christ.

We are sure that he has borne our griefs and carried our sorrows. We considered him stricken, smitten by God, and afflicted. He was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our wicked deeds; the chastisement for our peace was on him, and by his wounds we are healed.

There is nothing more we can do to challenge the heights of love and depths of peace that He has demonstrated. The promise of acceptance with which He calls us is what gives us the confidence to draw near to God.

For He says: "In an acceptable time I have heard you, And in the day of salvation I have helped you." Behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation. (2Corinthians.6.2 NKJV)

God is extending His hand of help to you, how you respond will define the results. Are you going to run away from Grace like Adam and Eve, or will stand with the assurance of acceptance?

Hallelujah!
