If you are willing and obedient, You shall eat the good of the land; (Isaiah.1.19 NKJV)
John gives us the true beginning of all things from which I want to build today.
John.1.1-4 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning. Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made. In him was life, and that life was the light of men.
Of the things created was man. Who was given the authority over the other creation. The part of the creation is to provide for the needs of man. Thus "the good of the land."
Because all things were made through Him, then all things must submit to Him. Man is not an exception. So God is giving us a reminder here. "If you are willing and obedient."
Our obedience to God plays a big role in how the other creation responds to our needs. The land could not yeild it's strength to Cain because he disobeyed God and was not willing to be helped by Him. [Genesis 4.12]
The main reason here is that God holds the highest authority over all things. Like the warning given to Israel, we too should take care and obey the Lord our God.
Leviticus.18.28 And if you defile the land, it will vomit you out as it vomited out the nations that were before you. (NIV)
Hallelujah!
