What is master over your life? What and who has become superior to you? Friend what has overcome you? What do you find yourself under it's control even when you don't will?
Scripture is telling us a simple yet powerful principle: whatever anyone is made inferior or worse or is overcome, to that [person or thing] he is enslaved. When slavery is spoken of, many people think about a slavery such as that that was to the Israelites.
I tell you such slavery is no more as that pronounced. Today many people are bound and enslaved by things that you least recognize: money, social media, gossip, search for knowledge, pleasure, strong drink and drugs, worship of self and idols, work and many more things. Start watching your life child of God, help yourself learn what masters you.
What occupies your mind and time the most is definitely going to enslaved you. It is better to be slaves to righteousness and the law of God other than to sin. We who have received Christ are no longer slaves to sin for we have received the Spirit of liberty.
Romans.8.9 But you are not living the life of the flesh, you are living the life of the Spirit, if the Holy Spirit of God really dwells within you [directs and controls you]. But if anyone does not possess the Holy Spirit of Christ, he is none of His [he does not belong to Christ, is not truly a child of God].
Such are mastered by other things. Be wise and escape slavery!
