The way of the wicked is like deep darkness; they do not know over what they stumble. (Proverbs.4.19 AMP)
While walking, sight is very important in that you are able to see the way and what can stumble you. But sight is positive if there is light.
By scripture the way of the wicked is like deep darkness. Other Bible versions say becomes darker and darker, that even the ability to recognize what can stumble a man is lost.
Wickedness is like pregnancy; at the start it can not be recognized but slowly progresses to visibility. Nobody is born totally spoiled, but the way you take in your life determines what will be seen by people and what you become.
There must be a conscience in any man to recognize what can lead to their downfall. But leaving a wicked life robs a man off this conscience. In fact to a level that they begin to love their wicked ways.
They have left the straight way and wandered off to follow the way of Balaam son of Beor, who loved the wages of wickedness. (2Peter.2.15 NIV)
Walking on the way of wickedness means dying often to God and loving the wages of sin while walking on the path of righteousness is dying to self and becoming alive in God. God is light and those in whom He dwells dwell in His light. So, their path gets brighter and more brighter.
God help us walk in your light, that we stumble not and perish under the power of sin. Amen.
