Eph.2.17-18 And came and preached peace to you which were afar off, and to them that were nigh. For through him we both have access by one Spirit unto the Father. (KJV)
~
Like the Jews before the coming of Jesus Christ, many people also think that working out good works by reason of the law of Moses makes you to draw close to God.
So we have to kinds of people; those who cherish and want to live by the law and those whom the law was not given. The Jew and Gentile; the Jew presuming to be near and the Gentile being far from God. The difference here is the law.
The coming of Jesus Christ brought an end to the partition. Scripture says when He came, He preached peace to those which were afar off, and to them that were nigh –Jew and Gentile.
What is this to us? There is no other way to enter the presence of God the father. Your good works based on the law and not faith can not draw you near to God.
There is only one way that reconciles all: Jesus Christ. For through him we both have access by one Spirit unto the Father.
The pattern to the father is; we through Jesus Christ by the Spirit to the father. There is no place for works.
Are good works completely done away with? No. Good works must come by the revelation of the person of Jesus Christ. For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good deeds, which God ordained beforehand that we should be active in them. (Ephesians 2:10)
Why search for the best way to access God the father yet we have the answer right with us? Sometimes we are deceived into thinking that people who have a certain form of holiness are too close to God. That people who worship a certain way, cry and roll have the easiest way to the father. No.
Jesus is the one and only way to access the father. Iniquity drew men away from God but Jesus Christ brings men back to God. There is nothing else we can do to reverse iniquity except setting our eyes on Jesus Christ.
Praise God for the Gift of Jesus Christ! Now we have access not to just enter and come out of the presence but to dwell in the presence without making constant sin offering.
Hallelujah!
