This is what the LORD says: "Cursed is the one who trusts in man, who depends on flesh for his strength and whose heart turns away from the LORD. He will be like a bush in the wastelands; he will not see prosperity when it comes. He will dwell in the parched places of the desert, in a salt land where no one lives. "But blessed is the man who trusts in the LORD, whose confidence is in him. He will be like a tree planted by the water that sends out its roots by the stream. It does not fear when heat comes; its leaves are always green. It has no worries in a year of drought and never fails to bear fruit." (Jeremiah.17.5-8 )
Nothing was designed not to bear and multiply. And Genesis gives us the story in the creation moment. From ground to beast to plant and to man, all were given the ability to produce.
Among the women known in the Bible as once barren, none died without child. That changes the description showing that they were not really barren as we think.
In the sight of God, barrenness does not exist. But why do women die with out having children, and plants not yielding as they should, livestock not producing as expected, businesses static or perhaps dying and gifts not producing their kind?
When God cursed the ground after the fall of man, the once productive land (Genesis 1.11-12) was now to produce thorns and weeds (Genesis 3.18).
So what does it mean when a man is compared to a desert or a wasteland which is a representation of barrenness? From scripture (Genesis.3.18), we have seen that wasteland was a result of a curse.
So, am I saying that barren people are cursed? God forbid! In the Bible, we have seen that something or a woman can be barren because there is a divine plan. But also, it can come as a result of what we see in our theme scripture.
Let's read our theme scripture again.
Jeremiah.17.5-8 This is what the LORD says: "Cursed is the one who trusts in man, who depends on flesh for his strength and whose heart turns away from the LORD. He will be like a bush in the wastelands; he will not see prosperity when it comes. He will dwell in the parched places of the desert, in a salt land where no one lives.
No matter the chances or directions you take, nothing can heal barrenness be it in your relationship, work or livestock as trusting God can.
Many people have their trust in tradition, some in spirits, others in their wisdom or credentials but I want to assure you, a curse lies right in front of such.
The way to deal with barrenness or to even be immune to it is by trusting God. Trust in His promises. Take him at his word.
The plans God has for you are to prosper you and maintain your lot.
If we had two barren women or businesses, the difference between the one who trusts man or their own understanding and he who trusts God, is that the former dies in their barrenness while the latter will yield fruit.
Blessed is the man who trusts in the LORD, whose confidence is in him. He will be like a tree planted by the water that sends out its roots by the stream. It does not fear when heat comes; its leaves are always green. It has no worries in a year of drought and never fails to bear fruit."
If you decide to trust God, never give up no matter how things seem not working. Barrenness only exists in the tent of he who does not trust God.
In the tent of they that trust God, it is a moment of calibration, alignment to divine timing and season, a time of positioning not barrenness.
To Him who trusts God, the blessing of God is commanded.
Psalm.128.3-4 Your wife will be like a fruitful vine within your house; your sons will be like olive shoots around your table. Thus is the man blessed who fears the LORD.
Hallelujah!
