FAITH, A KEY TO RECEIVING

He was listening to Paul as he talked, and Paul gazing intently at him and observing that he had faith to be healed, shouted at him, saying, Stand erect on your feet! And he leaped up and walked. (Acts.14.9-10 AMP)

Do things in the spirit happen by mistake or by chance? No. God gives us everything but doesn't impose anything on us. For where there is a giver there must surely be a receiver.

According to scripture God has done everything that we would ever require that it be done for us. But not everything has been received as it ought. Then there comes the "why."

The state of the heart. Do you think there was nobody else with an infirmity in the synagogue in which Paul was preaching? I believe there were more. But scripture records Paul gazing intently at the lame man and observing that he had faith to be healed. What about the rest?

In most cases God sets the environment, atmosphere and requirements for us to receive what he has already given but we miss out because we don't have the right mindset and heart to take.

Imagine someone going to God and expecting to receive what they themselves are not set to receive. Going to God with an attitude of "come what may, i don't care." In other words you even don't know what you want. How can such a person have faith to receive?

The Bible tells us in Philippians 4.6 to make our requests known to God because it's important that in the recognition of our needs, our hearts are prepared to receive.

Change how you go into the presence of God, let your heart have faith to receive what God has already given and never loose hope.

Hallelujah!
