SERVING GOD IS A NATURE NOT A HABIT

Revelation.1.6 To him who loves us and has freed us from our sins by his blood, and has made us to be a kingdom and priests to serve his God and Father--to him be glory and power for ever and ever! Amen. (NIV)

Have you thought about why you actually find yourself serving or desiring to serve God? Some think it is something just copied or learned from somewhere else. And some attribute it to their background.

Let's clear that veil. We all know or at least should know that when you believe and make confession, you are made a new creation. [2Cor.5.7]. The nature of the new creature is described in our theme scripture and also in Revelation 5.10.

Revelation.5.10 You have made them to be a kingdom and priests to serve our God, and they will reign on the earth."

If then we have been made priest, it means by default we are servants of God. Today people are twisting the arrangement. Making the service of God just a routine and their survival duties their nature.

2Corinthians.3.4 -6 Such confidence as this is ours through Christ before God. Not that we are competent in ourselves to claim anything for ourselves, but our competence comes from God. He has made us competent as ministers of a new covenant--not of the letter but of the Spirit; for the letter kills, but the Spirit gives life.

Serving God is a nature created in us during the new birth. It is the reason why for a Christian, the war exists between the flesh and the spirit if they neglect serving God.

Hallelujah!
